Meetings and events continue to connect attendees to new business opportunities, deliver industry-leading education and foster alignment on strategic objectives.

But there are a number of obstacles standing between you and a meeting that captivates, stirs engagement and ultimately provides value. Successful organizers consider four “E’s”:

  • Engage. Involve attendees long before your upcoming event. Social media has made it easier than ever to share news and provide value to them.

  • Equip. Identify the intended ROI for your stakeholders and then ensure that every part of the meeting delivers on that ROI.

  • Empower. Encourage attendees to share their experiences and key takeaways from your meeting.

  • Easy to digest. Research has concluded that Americans’ focused attention span continues to decrease. Currently, 8 seconds is the norm, down from 12 in 2000. Think about all components of your meeting in bite-sized formats.
