To make travel planning a bit easier, Hotels.com has released data from its Hotel Price Index highlighting the most booked destinations of 2014.
Top domestic destinations for Americans:
New York City
Sin City remains the most popular domestic destination for Americans and why not? The lights, shows, attractions and unparalleled selection of hotels per square mile make Las Vegas the number one most visited city.
Second to none, New York City is home to Broadway, Times Square, skyscrapers, parks and cuisine of all types including the infamous black and white cookie! Americans paid an average of $261 per night for hotel rooms in the Big Apple according to the Hotels.com HPI.
Orlando has long mastered the art of luring throngs of travelers to its attractions. The city boasts more than 100 parks and 21 community centers, but it’s also home to more than 100 lakes.

San Diego is ideal for short breaks where you can experience animals, art, military history and ocean-front dining. American travelers paid an average of $145 per night for hotel rooms according to the Hotels.com HPI.
